What People Are Saying

Psychotherapy

General
"I was a client of Melanie's. I am sober, healthy and positive and it is her holistic, 'non-clinical' approach that assisted me greatly. Melanie also looks at things from a systems perspective and was able to provide effective treatment for my wife who struggles with depression, anger and self doubt as well as treatment for my children."

"Melanie was my first therapist. I was really nervous at the beginning and was not sure if therapy was something I wanted, but as I continued therapy with her I realized that it was :) The most valuable experience I got from her is the awakening of my inner child and the feeling of a safe space provided for me to explore that. I felt a nurturing yet strong feminine nature that she exuded. If I had to sum her up in 3 words: She understood me. We were always in the moment, present and aware, through playful interactions such as singing, dancing, meditating, role-playing and many more wonderful expressions of creativity.  Thank you Melanie for providing me a space that allowed me to venture out into the world unafraid and daring, but most of all with a heart of a child who always wonders".

Therapeutic Clown
"My son Keon, who is nine years old was diagnosed with Neuroblastoma three years ago. Through the therapeutic clown program at the hospital, Loopi was a staple to Keon. My family and I watched Loopi tried various techniques to get Keon participating in  therapeutic activities - she finally got him going… Now, each visit to the hospital is filled with anticipation of seeing Loopi for some type of challenge. Loopi's presence always put a spark in Keon's eyes and open the window to his soul. There aren't enough words to describe the benefit of having someone as skilled as Loopi in this very important area of well-being."

Education

Early Years Programming
"Melanie Rosen's classes have helped facilitate the children's curiosity and exploration through movement as well as the other expressive arts. She provides a range of themes focusing on the children's interests and adjusts each class to me the skill development of the group as well as each individual child.
We consider her involvement to be an important part of our curriculum. The children look forward to her visits and often, after she has left, represent the skills that they have developed by facilitating their own 'classes' with one child pretending to be Melanie."
Sandra Jackson, Supervisor, Studio 123 Early Learning Center

Embodied Education
"Melanie's approach to the Elements of Dance and integrating the curriculum is very unique. She allowed the children to become comfortable in their bodies and before they knew it they were dancing! I loved that we were able to talk about and incorporate mindfulness work into the sessions. These are just some of the many reasons we should have specialists teaching specialized subjects in public schools!"

Conference & Professional Development
"Melanie is an amazing person with a deep respect, understanding, and passion for Indigenous peoples and cultures from around the globe. I invite her to join in every workshop I am facilitating whenever possible. In my work, I promote child and family wellness through taking an Indigenous approach to health and well-being. I have seen Melanie help instill confidence into new moms who are just learning to play with their babies, do captivating circles for toddlers and pre-schoolers, and most recently, I’ve enjoyed learning some new strategies from Melanie on how to help parents engage in play with their young children. As a mom to an active and creative five-year-old, I’m thankful for the ideas she has brought to my own work as a mom! If you’re looking for an uplifting and experienced facilitator who can get your big or small group laughing and moving their bodies, then Melanie is exactly who you are looking for!"
Melanie Ferris, First Nations mom and health promotion consultant, Best Start Resource Centre at Health Nexus
"Melanie skillfully weaved a tapestry of theory and practice. I was inspired on all levels and I'm taking away much to integrate in my own work."

Birthday Party
"I had the privilege of meeting Melanie a number of years ago through a program she ran through my childrens’ daycare. The programs were outstanding and the kids so looked forward to Fridays when Melanie would be stopping by to work with them. As they developed this relationship with her and flourished in her programming, we also had her come and do several of their birthday parties in our home. These were a huge hit with all the kids. It is every parent's dream to plan a birthday party that kids love, and they participate in a program that has meaning and depth. Thanks Melanie!"

Baby Shower
"What a unique experience creating a heartbeat rhythm in a circle of women. This beat helped us all connect and honour the baby to be. Having a quiet moment, listening to poetry, and having guests whispering wonderful thoughts was magical."
